On this week’s episode, we talk to Breanna and Brooke Bennett, twelve year old twins who have started a conversation about period poverty in the city of Montgomery. Their non-profit, Women in Training (WIT), is meeting the needs of their community by providing WIT kits filled with pads, tampons, and self-care items to people with periods! Hear what they have to say about making people feel confident during their periods, how menstrual products are taxed in Alabama, and why they want to make their community a better place for the next generation of kids after them.
The three of us shake our heads at another check Alabama must write to the ACLU, amplify student activism on the University of Alabama’s campus (it’s still War Eagle all day!), and highlight another abolitionist bookstore in the South.
